Editorial Approach
The Gazette's most famous attribute has long been the public's feeling that you have to read the paper to know what is going on Olathe. Its "reader friendly, down-home and hometown" format has won it thousands of avid readers and even praise from its competition. Over 20 regular columnists contribute news and views for articles and features which tell south Johnson County residents things that they don't read anywhere else. One of the most popular features is the longest running column, "From the Publisher" which each week gives scores of scoops, inside stories, rumors, tidbits, fast facts, mini-news, quick grabs, teasers, and short shots in rapid fire succession which cause the readers to feel like they've really been let in on a big secret.
